Kylee had a rough day yesterday and Adam had a rough night last night. He was tired from breathing and was defibbing quite a bit. He was put on a ventilator to do some of the work for him. He is up to 4.5 ml of milk an hour so he is digesting well. He was happy to have the cap off his head again. He loves to look around. He is such a tiny sweetheart!
Kylee is doing much better today than yesterday. She is back to 2 ml of milk an hour. Kylee likes to sleep with her mouth open. This can cause air to build up in her stomach and cause digestion problems. When they find her mouth open, they try to gently close it. Kylee takes great exception to this. Sometimes they have to put a chin strap on her to keep her mouth closed. She is not a fan of this either.
Kylee was crying for a bit while I was there as the nurse was tucking her in. She has a tiny little voice but today she cried loud enough for me to hear her while I was over with Adam. She settled down quickly but you want so bad to hold and comfort her when she cries. It is even more difficult for Eric and Emily right now, not being able to hold them, comfort them, and snuggle them.
They are sweet, precious, teeny tiny little miracles. They are the sunshine in my day!
