Our little miracles continue to progress, now over a week old.  Adam is still being intubated to help make it easier for him to breathe while Kylee is still on a bubbler.  They are receiving 1.5 cc of Mommy's milk every hour and Adam and Kylee's plumbing is definitely working!

When we visited them today they were both getting changed and getting shots.  Afterward, they were both placed on their bellies where they both fell asleep.  Before drifting off, they were both looking around, checking things out.

Their nurse commented today on how each has such a distinct personality already.  Adam is easy going unless his diaper is wet.  He is very particular about dry diapers.  Adam is constantly looking around, checking things out.  Kylee does not like to be disturbed.  When she is, she let's you know it by crying out loud.  She is just beginning to look around a little and check things out.  They both respond to Mommy and Daddy, calming right down when they hear Mommy or Daddy, or when Mommy or Daddy touches them if they are upset.

It was a very sad day in the NICU nursery today as Kylee's neighbor, a little boy, did not make it last night.  Our hearts and prayers go out to him, his parents, and his family.  He is an angel now watching over them.

Emily entered the hospital at twenty-three weeks and was able to hold onto Adam and Kylee for two more weeks thanks to the amazing people at Sutter Memorial.  We were told every day a baby stays in the womb is like three days of development for the baby and exponentially increases its chances of survival.  We are eternally grateful for the fourteen extra days Adam and Kylee got.

Emily and Eric are exhausted.  But today Emily said she was feeling a little more at peace about the babies being in the hospital and not home yet.  They both know how well Adam and Kylee are being cared for and how important their care is.  Meanwhile, Emily is anxiously awaiting holding them in her arms for the first time.

Today was another good day for our little miracles.  They continue to grow and become more beautiful with each passing day.  We are so blessed.

Thank you for the incredible outpouring of support, prayers, love, and positive energy we have received.  We are blessed and fortunate to have so many wonderful people pulling for these sweethearts and our families.  It is greatly appreciated and touches us deeply.
