Today was another good day for our little miracles. They have graduated to a room-air incubator instead of the climate-controlled ones they have been in since birth. They both continue to do extremely well and are growing and gaining weight. They are opening their eyes and looking around more and more each day.
They are continually monitored and adjusted based on the monitoring. I have included pictures of one of the monitors they each have where their pulse, heart beats, and other levels are monitored. There are at least two other monitors for each of them plus the incubators are monitored. Sometimes monitor leads are unplugged by a tiny hand or foot and bells start going off. We are beginning to recognize when the alarms are likely routine and when they could be serious.
Kylee and Adam have a new neighbor, an almost full-term boy twin. His sister is on the other side of the nursery right now. The little girl is the older of the two and when they were telling me she was older, the little boy made a scowl. lol. Each twin is at least four times the size of Adam and Kylee!
Today a professional photographer came in and did portraits of Adam and Kylee. She is such a dear person! She wouldn't charge Emily and Eric what her time was worth, and then she showed up with two adorable preemie outfits for Adam and Kylee. Kylee's has little ballerina shoes printed into the feet. The photographer said she had to get it because Kylee's song is "Tiny Dancer." She has also reached out to her friends and has boxes of gently used preemie clothes being sent from across the country for Adam and Kylee!
If you have never seen them, preemie clothes are REALLY SMALL!!! They make 0 to 3 month clothes look like tents! Well... Adam and Kylee could both fit twice in a preemie outfit right now. They are tinier than you can imagine! We look forward to the day they can fill one out!
Thank you for the prayers, love, and positive energy that keeps our family and our tiny miracles lifted up every day. We can never express how much it means to us and how much we appreciate it. Thank you so much! Today was a good day!
They are precious little miracles & I'm looking forward to watching their progress for a long time. Thanks for the update.
