June 4, 2012 - Mommy's Coming Home

Today has been a relatively good day.  Adam received a blood transfusion today, but it is a routine part of care for someone so small.  He was very brave and rested comfortably while receiving the treatment.  The constant monitoring requires blood for analysis and he is so tiny he cannot replenish it fast enough on his own yet.  This will help make things easier for him as he continues to develop.  He is also under a UV light again.  Mommy got to regulate the feeding tube drip this morning and fed Adam a drop of her milk.  It was the first time she got to technically feed him.  She was so thrilled and proud!

Kylee completed her UV treatment and was resting peacefully when I saw her today.  She held Mommy's finger and squeezed it.  Kylee has not opened her eyes yet but is still breathing on her own and taking Mommy's milk through a feeding tube.  We cannot wait to see her beautiful little eyes.

Mommy is being released tonight.  It is going to be very difficult leaving the hospital without Adam and Kylee.  But she knows they are in the best of hands and she will see them again tomorrow morning.  Meanwhile, she will be home after 18 days.  The hospital took wonderful care of her, but there is no place like home!  Her incision will need attention, but she is doing fantastic.

Thank you for all of the continued prayers, love, good wishes, and positive thoughts for our families, daughter, son-in-law, and twins.  It helps bring us through each day.  Thank you!
